On 8.00 on the 7th July 2023 at The Acorn Theatre, Penzance. Gray Lightfoot, with the help of Kate Barden and Robert Erskine will present a Play for Voices called Sea Fear (taken from Gray’s poem of the same name) which imagines a conversation, high up on Carn Brea, between a poet and a young Redruth woman whose children have never seen the sea ( a mere four miles away).
The evening is completed with more of Gray’s poems about Cornish issues of poverty, second homes, lack of housing and decent jobs, deserted villages and over-tourism.
Short stories by Ross James (read by Trevenen Harry) and Catherine Leyshon (read by the author herself) will also be heard.

Gosh you are hot on the marketing! Well done.
You will be aware my health is not so good these days, and I have had to accept that I am just not fit enough to attend most local events.
Access, transport, energy levels etc. I am sad to miss even the new Yacht poetry evenings, although so near. And especially the Acorn evenings, after so many years involved as a Trustee and FOH Manager.
However, I am sure you know my heart will be with you all. I very much enjoy following everything on FB, which helps me feel connected.
I have worked closely with both Rob and Kate on performance, and know they will do you proud. Pace and Projection always my final reminders!

PS Any chance I can read your script? I heard that radio programme when it first went out. It had a profound effect on me too…… almost quite surreal.
